Rotary vane compressors are said to be rotary. That is, it is a type of cylindrical machine that contains a rotating mechanism with vanes. This system has the particularity of moving the vanes in the middle of an engine to generate an air space. The air is compressed and sent to the extraction system.

It is the vanes that define the performance of the compressor. The better they are, the better the compressor will perform. 

Up to 30kW, they are quiet and are used in decentralized areas for local compressed air production.
